Velvet Sky Bakery turned on its ovens in 2011. Since then, we have been proudly committed to baking delicious and beautiful cakes and desserts, using high quality ingredients, and take no shortcuts with our product. Our open kitchen plan allows visitors to watch our specialty cakes, beautiful hand-crafted sugar flowers and fabulous cupcake towers being created from scratch, with passion and precision.
The bakery has been featured in several publications, including FOX29, Philadelphia Wedding Magazine, Mitzvah Market, Wedding Wire, Clever Wedding Ideas, Chocolate Covered Memories, Simply Nicole, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Style Magazine, The Jewish Exponent, Comcast’s “Best Of City”, Philly Burbs, and were named in Daily Candy’s Top Ten Bakeries in Philadelphia.
Since 2012, we have consistently placed as Runner-Up for Best Cupcakes In Philadelphia in PHl17’s Philly Hot List, as well as Finalists in Cupcakes and Specialty Cake Design in Montco’s Happening List.
In Summer 2013, we expanded our bakery concept and opened Velvet Sky Café, a dessert & espresso bar right next to our bakery, overlooking the beautiful Town Square in Jenkintown, Pa. The café serves as our consultation space, showcasing our flavors. It offers a changing daily selection of freshly baked cupcakes, muffins, scones, quiche, bars, cookies, brownies and other dessert fare, as well as high quality coffees and teas.
In Spring 2014, the bakery took on the exciting role of being the Official Dessert Provider for the Philadelphia Flyers for the entire year.
In Spring 2015, Velvet Sky Bakery was awarded “Small Business of the Year” by the EMCCC, and was honored with a certificate of recognition from the State Of Pennsylvania for outstanding contributions to the community. Additionally, the bakery accepted a Resolution of Recognition from Jenkintown Borough.

Leading the innovative team of designers at Velvet Sky Bakery is Jordan Harvey. Originally a native of the Philadelphia area, she moved to Savannah, Georgia where she found her calling as a pastry chef and cake designer, training under such personalities as Ron Ben Israel and Elisa Strauss for over 5 years.
She has since returned to her hometown to pursue her own vision and passion, operating a boutique cake studio and dessert café. She loves cats, the outdoors, and red wine.
